Come with Special-Destinations to experience an unexplored corner of Europe. Moldova; Europe’s least visited country and Transnistria; a country that ‘doesn’t exist’ and a Soviet relic which still uses the hammer and sickle on its flag.
We will arrive by train into Moldova’s capital city of Chisinau and will explore picturesque villages, Moldova's most famous site - a cave monastery and take a tour of Cricova underground wine city. We will then head over to Transnistria, a breakaway state on the eastern edge of Moldova. Here we will watch the Victory Day parade and take a tour around the capital city of Tiraspol.
We currently run one trip per year to the region, coinciding with Victory Day in Transnistria.
Visa on arrival at no cost is available for most nationalities for both Moldova and Transnistria.
The tour starts and ends in Bucharest but there is also the option to start and end in Chisinau for those who would rather avoid the overnight train journey.
Our tours are priced at 740EUR per person. Rooms are on a twin basis.
Single supplement is priced at 236EUR or we can allocate someone for you to share with (subject to availability).
Deposit required to confirm your booking is 300EUR.
